         Committee on Appropriations-S/C on General Government, met in a  
         public hearing and was called to order by the chair,  
         Representative Heflin, at 8:07 a.m. 
          
         Present:  Representatives Heflin; Pickett; West (3). 
         Absent:   Representatives Flores; Luna, Vilma; Puente (3). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         (Representative Puente now present.) 
          
         At 10:04 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed until 10:10 a.m., February 16, 2001. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 10:13 a.m. and was called to order  
         by the chair, Representative Heflin. The roll was answered as  
         follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Heflin; Pickett; Puente (3). 
         Absent:   Representatives Flores; Luna, Vilma (2). 
          
         A quorum was present.
