         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 16,  
         2001, the House Committee on County Affairs met in a formal  
         meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Ramsay, at 12:18 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Ramsay; Lewis, Glenn; Brown, Betty;  
                   Chisum; Farabee; Krusee; Salinas (7). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Hilderbran; Shields (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB1780 
          
         The chair laid out SB1780. 
          
         Representative Ramsay offered a complete committee substitute.  
          
         The chair recognized Representative Chisum to explain the  
         measure.  
          
         The chair recognized Representative Chisum to close on the  
         measure.  
          
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection. 
          
         Representative Glenn Lewis moved that SB1780, as substituted, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:               Representatives Ramsay; Lewis, Glenn; Brown,  
                             Betty; Chisum; Farabee; Krusee; Salinas (7).  
           
         Nays:               None (0).  
           
         Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).  
           
         Absent:        Representatives Hilderbran; Shields  (2).  
           
         At 12:20 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
