The House Committee on Energy Resources 
         77th Legislature 
         February 7, 2001

         Pursuant to a notice posted on January 30, 2001, the House  
         Committee on Energy Resources met in a public hearing and was  
         called to order by the chair, Representative Lewis, Ron, at 8:15  
         a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Lewis, Ron; Merritt; Christian;  
                   Hawley; Kitchen (5). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Carter; Crabb; Driver; Williams (4). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         In an organizational meeting, Chairman Ron Lewis welcomed those  
         committee members returning to serve on the committee again this  
         session and extended a special welcome to the members new to the  
         committee.  
          
         (Representative Carter now present.) 
         (Representative Williams now present.) 
         (Representative Driver now present. 
          
         Each member of the committee was given the opportunity to offer  
         their remarks and each member present did so.  Chairman Lewis  
         spoke briefly about the committee's hearing scheduled for 1:00  
         pm in the Extension Auditorium. 
          
         At 8:45 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
