         Pursuant to a notice posted on May 7, 2002, the House Committee  
         on Energy Resources met in a public hearing and was called to  
         order by the chair, Representative Lewis, Ron, at 9:07 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Lewis, Ron; Merritt; Carter; Crabb;  
                   Hawley; Kitchen; Williams (7). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Christian; Driver (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The Chair recognized Chairman Michael L. Williams of the Texas  
         Railroad Commission to testify on "Homeland Security" and  
         pipeline safety. 
          
         (Representative Driver now present.) 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         At 12:50 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
