         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 1, 2001, the House  
         Committee on State, Federal & International Relations met in a  
         public hearing and was called to order by the chair,  
         Representative Hunter, at 8:08 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Hunter; Moreno, Paul; Berman; Elkins;  
                   Madden; Miller; Najera (7). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Chavez; Raymond (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Chairman Hunter began the meeting explaining the committee's  
         jurisdiction.

         (Representative Raymond now present.) 
          
         Testimony was taken on the subject of Texas tourism efforts.   
         (See attached witness list.) 
          
         At 9:50 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
