         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 18,  
         2001, the House Committee on Insurance met in a formal meeting  
         and was called to order by the acting chair, Representative  
         Eiland at 6:41 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:

                   Moreno, Joe E.; Olivo; Seaman (7). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Smithee; Thompson (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB 957 
          
         The chair laid out SB 957 as pending business.  
          
         Representative Averitt moved that SB 957, without amendments, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:               Representatives Eiland; Averitt; Lewis,  
                             Glenn; Moreno, Joe E.; Seaman (5).  
           
         Nays:               Representative Burnam (1).  
           
         Present, Not Voting:     Representative Olivo  (1).  
           
         Absent:        Representatives Smithee; Thompson  (2).  
           
         At 6:43 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
