         Pursuant to a notice posted on June 3, 2002, the House Committee  
         on Public Education, Subcommittee on Charter Schools, met in a  
         public hearing and was called to order by the chair,  
         Representative Dunnam, at 10:15 a.m. 
          
         Present:  Representatives Dunnam; Hardcastle (2). 
          
         Absent:   Representative Dutton (1). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.)

         At 1:45 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed until 2:00 p.m., June 27, 2002. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 2:10 p.m. and was called to order by  
         the chair, Representative Dunnam. The roll was answered as  
         follows:

         Absent:   Hardcastle (1) 
          
         A quorum was present.

         At 8:00 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,
