         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 6, 2001, the House  
         Committee on Public Safety met in a public hearing and was  
         called to order by the chair, Representative Turner, Bob, at  
         11:57 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Turner, Bob; Keel; Berman; Driver;  
                   Isett (5). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Gutierrez; Hupp; King, Phil;  
                   Villarreal, Mike (4). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Chairman Turner, Bob explained the Committee's procedures.
