Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 11,
2001, the House Committee on Public Safety met in a formal
meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative
Turner, Bob, at 11:31 p.m.
The roll was answered as follows:

A quorum was present.

The chair laid out HB 817.
The chair recognized Representative King, Phil to explain the
measure.
Representative Turner, Bob offered a complete committee
substitute.
The chair recognized Representative King, Phil to close on the
measure.
The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
Representative Berman moved that HB 817, as substituted, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:

Gutierrez; Hupp; Isett; King, Phil;
Villarreal, Mike (8).

Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the
