         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 2, 2001, the House  
         Committee on Urban Affairs met in a joint hearing with the House  
         Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government in a public  
         hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Carter, and by the chair of the House Appropriations  
         Subcommittee on General Government, Representative Heflin, at  
         2:12 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Carter; Bailey; Callegari; Edwards;  
                   Hill; Jones, Elizabeth; Najera (7). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Burnam; Ehrhardt (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list). 
          
         (Representative Burnam now present).  (Representative Ehrhardt  
         now present). 
          
         At 4:11 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
