         Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule  
         11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on  
         Administration was held on Monday, March 5, 2001, in E1.714

         The chair called the meeting to order at 5:05 p.m.  There being  
         a quorum present, the following business was transacted:   
          
         Senator Moncrief moved adoption of the minutes from the previous  
         hearing held on February 26, 2001; without objection, it was so  
         ordered.   
          
         Chairman Cain asked if there were any questions or comments  
         about any of the bills recommended for the March 8, 2001 Local  
         and Uncontested Calendar.  There was discussion.  Senator  
         Moncrief moved that all of the bills (17) on the recommended  
         list be certified for the Local and Uncontested Calendar, with  
         the exception of SB 505, SB 716, SB 827, SB 120, SB 243, and SB  
         472.  SB 505, SB 716, and SB 827 were left pending for further  
         discussion.  Without objection, it was so ordered. 
          
         There being no further business, at 5:20 p.m. Senator Ogden  
         moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of  
         the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
