         Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee  
         on Administration was held on Monday, March 12, 2001, in E1.714

         Senator Mike Moncrief

         The Chair called the meeting to order at 4:12 p.m.  There being a quorum present, the following business was  
         transacted:   
          
         Senator Moncrief moved adoption of the minutes from the previous hearing held on March 5, 2001; without  
         objection, it was so ordered.   
          
         The Chair announced that SB 1043 would not be heard at this meeting. 
          
         Chairman Cain asked if there were any questions or comments about any of the bills recommended for the  
         March 15, 2001 Local and Uncontested Calendar.  There was discussion.  Senator Zaffirini moved that all of  
         the bills on page one of the recommended list be certified for the Local and Uncontested Calendar, with the  
         exception of SB 55 and SB 492.  Without objection, it was so ordered.  Senator Moncrief moved that all of  
         the bills on page two of the recommended list be certified for the Local and Uncontested Calendar.  Without  
         objection, it was so ordered.  Senator Zaffirini moved that all of the bills on page three of the recommended  
         list be certified for the Local and Uncontested Calendar, with the exception of SB 867.  Without objection, it  
         was so ordered. 
          
         There being no further business, at 4:22 p.m. Senator Brown moved that the Committee stand recessed  
         subject to the call of the Chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
