Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule
11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on
Administration was held on Monday, May 21, 2001, in E1.714.

The Chair called the meeting to order at 6:34 p.m. There being
a quorum present, the following business was transacted:
Senator Moncrief moved adoption of the minutes from the previous
hearing held on May 17, 2001; without objection, it was so
ordered.
Chairman Cain asked if there were any questions or comments
about any of the bills recommended for the May 23, 2001, Local
and Uncontested Calendar. There was discussion. Senator
Zaffirini moved that all of the bills on page one of the Local
and Uncontested Calendar recommended list plus HB 131 be
certified with the exception of HB 609, HB 638, and HB 660;
without objection, it was so ordered. Senator Ogden moved that
all of the bills on page two of the Local and Uncontested
Calendar recommended list be certified; without objection, it
was so ordered. Senator Moncrief moved that all of the bills on
page three of the Local and Uncontested Calendar recommended
list be certified with the exception of HB 1585, HB 1649, HB
1721, and HB 1761; without objection, it was so ordered. Senator
Brown moved that all of the bills on page four of the Local and
Uncontested Calendar recommended list be certified with the
exception of HB 2087 and HB 2410; without objection, it was so
ordered. Senator Zaffirini moved that all of the bills on page
five of the Local and Uncontested Calendar recommended list be
certified with the exception of HB 2601, HB 2794, HB 2932;
without objection, it was so ordered. Senator Moncrief moved
that all of the bills on page six of the Local and Uncontested
Calendar recommended list be certified with the exception of HB
3590 and HB 3659; without objection, it was so ordered. Senator
Ogden moved that all of the bills on page seven of the Local and
Uncontested Calendar recommended list be certified; without
objection, it was so ordered.
There being no further business, at 7:00 p.m. Senator Brown
moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of
the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
