Both Senator Sibley and Representative Wolens gave opening remarks to the committee regarding electric utility restructuring in Texas. Invited testimony was taken. The following witnesses testified on the issue of electric utility restructuring: Chairman Pat Wood, III, representing the Public Utility Commission of Texas, Commissioner Judy Walsh, representing the Public Utility Commission of Texas, Tom Baker, representing Texas Utilities and the Association of Electric Companies of Texas, Tom Noel, representing the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, Lynn Lednicky, representing Dynegy, Janee Briesemeister, representing Consumers Union, Mark MacLeod, representing Environmental Defense. At 8:10 p.m. Chairman Wolens moved that the committees stand recessed until subject to call of the Chair.
