MINUTES SENATE COMMITTEE ON JURISPRUDENCE Monday, January 22, 2001 1:30 p.m. or upon adjournment Capitol Extension, Room E1.012 ***** Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Jurisprudence was held on Monday, January 22, 2001, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.012, at Austin, Texas. ***** MEMBERS PRESENT: MEMBERS ABSENT: Senator Royce West Senator Robert Duncan Senator David Bernsen Senator Jeff Wentworth Senator J. E. Brown Senator Rodney Ellis Senator Mike Jackson ***** The chair called the meeting to order at 1:40 p.m. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: The following members arrived after roll call: Senator Brown The Chair gave opening remarks. The Vice Chair gave opening remarks. The Chair laid out the proposed Committee Rules for the 77th Legislative Session. Senator Ellis inquired about an additional rule that would give the Chairman the ability to edit the minutes. The Chair stated that the Committee would look into the additional rule. Senator Ellis moved that the rules be adopted. Senator Bernsen seconded the motion. There being no further business, at 1:46 p.m. Senator Jackson moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Senator Ellis seconded the motion.
