         Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule  
         11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Criminal  
         Justice was held on Friday, May 11, 2001, in the Room 210, Sam

         The chair called the meeting to order at 11:12 a.m.  There being  
         a quorum present, the following business was transacted:   
          
         The posting rule, Senate Rule 11.18, was suspended to hear the

         The chair laid out HB3504 and as Senate sponsor explained the
