         Pursuant to a notice posted on October 17, 2001 and revised on  
         October 23, 2001 and October 25, 2001, the Joint Select  
         Committee on Public School Finance met in a public hearing and  
         was called to order by the co-chair, Senator Bivins, at 1:15  
         p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Senator Bivins; Representative Sadler; Senator Ogden;  
                   Senator Shapleigh; Senator West, Royce; Representative  
                   Grusendorf; Representative Hochberg; Representative  
                   Smith; Kent Caperton; Will Davis; Craig Foster; Mark  
                   Stiles; David Thompson (13). 
          
         Absent:   Senator Shapiro; Senator Van de Putte; Representative  
                   Dutton; Representative Oliveira; Lyndon Olson (5). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         (Representative Oliveira now present.) 
          
         Representative Oliveira moved to adopt committee rules 
          
         The committee rules were adopted without objection. 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         At 4:20 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
