         Pursuant to a notice posted on October 17, 2001 and revised on  
         October 23, 2001 and October 25, 2001, the Joint Select  
         Committee on Public School Finance met in a public hearing and  
         was called to order by the co-chair, Senator Bivins, at 9:10  
         a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Senator Bivins; Representative Sadler; Senator Ogden;  
                   Senator Shapleigh; Senator Shapiro; Senator West,  
                   Royce; Representative Grusendorf; Representative  
                   Hochberg; Representative Smith; Kent Caperton; Will  
                   Davis; Craig Foster; Mark Stiles; David Thompson (14). 
          
         Absent:   Senator Van de Putte; Representative Dutton;  
                   Representative Oliveira; Lyndon Olson (4). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         (Representative Oliveira now present.) 
          
         (Representative Dutton now present.) 
          
         Representative Oliveira moved to adopt the committee schedule  
          
         The committee schedule was adopted without objection. 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         At 12:50 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
