         Pursuant to a notice posted on April 30, 2002, the Joint Select  
         Committee on Public School Finance met in a public hearing and  
         was called to order by the chair, Senator Bivins, at 9:07 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Senator Bivins; Davis, Will; Foster, Craig;  
                   Representative Grusendorf; Representative Hochberg;  
                   Senator Shapleigh; Representative Smith; Thompson,  
                   David; Senator West, Royce (9). 
          
         Absent:   Representative Sadler; Caperton, Kent; Representative  
                   Dutton; Senator Ogden; Representative Oliveira; Olson,  
                   Lyndon; Senator Shapiro; Stiles, Mark; Senator Van de  
                   Putte (9). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         (Olson, Lyndon now present.) 
          
         Senator West moved that the March 7, 2002 minutes for Joint  
         Select Committee on Public School Finance be corrected.  The  
         corrected minutes were authorized without objection. 
          
         (Caperton, Kent now present.) 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         (Representative Oliveira now present.) 
          
         (Senator Van de Putte now present.) 
          
         (Senator Shapiro now present.) 
          
         (Senator Ogden now present.) 
          
         At 1:30 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
