         Pursuant to a notice posted on September 6, 2002, the Joint  
         Select Committee on Public School Finance met in a public  
         hearing and was called to order by the chair, Senator Bivins, at  
         10:10 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Senator Bivins; Representative Sadler; Caperton, Kent;  
                   Davis, Will; Foster, Craig; Representative Hochberg;  
                   Representative Oliveira; Senator Shapiro;  
                   Representative Smith; Thompson, David; Senator Van de  
                   Putte; Senator West, Royce (12). 
          
         Absent:   Representative Dutton; Representative Grusendorf;  
                   Senator Ogden; Olson, Lyndon; Senator Shapleigh;  
                   Stiles, Mark (6). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Senator Bivens moved that the May 9, 2002 minutes for the Joint  
         Select Committee on Public School Finance be adopted.  The  
         minutes were authorized without objection. 
          
         (Representative Grusendorf now present.) 
          
         (Senator Ogden now present.) 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         At 1:53 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
