The subcommittee will meet to discuss and hear invited testimony on the
following interim charge:

Study rate regulation of homeowners and automobile insurance, the use
of county mutual companies to circumvent rate regulation, and the
effects of deregulation on insurance rates and consumers.

This meeting will focus on the various methods of regulating rates and
the resulting impact of those regulatory systems on consumers and the
insurance industry.
