R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Sergeant Sam Aguilera has faithfully served his
fellow citizens for the past 13 years as a member of this nation's
armed forces; and
WHEREAS, Currently a gunnery sergeant with the U.S. Marine
Corps, this outstanding serviceman has received numerous
decorations for his conduct, including the Navy Achievement Medal,
the Southwest Asia Medal, and the Kuwait Liberation Medal; and
WHEREAS, Before beginning his career in uniform, he graduated
second in his class from La Villa High School, where he participated
in such challenging activities as football, track and field, and
ready writing; and
WHEREAS, His many achievements are a source of great pride to
his wife, Aseneth Aguilera, his parents, Miqueas Aguilera and
Raquel Ruiz, and his children, Samantha Rene, Sam, and Stephen
Aguilera; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the course of his service in the Marine
Corps, Sergeant Aguilera has remained steadfast in his commitment
to helping preserve the liberties and freedoms all Americans hold
dear, and Representative Aaron Pena has justly recognized Sergeant
Aguilera by authoring this resolution in his behalf during the 78th
legislative session; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Sergeant Sam
Aguilera on his exemplary military service and extend to him
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Sergeant Aguilera as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
