                                                                  H.R. No. 18 



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Two outstanding Texans, Don and Hermena Dodson, 
recently commemorated an important milestone in their lives, their 
50th wedding anniversary, with a family celebration at the First 
American Bank Ballpark; and
	WHEREAS, Don Dodson and the former Hermena Barnes, who met 
while both were working at the Superior Oil Company, were united in 
marriage on June 13, 1953, at a ceremony held in Lovington; Mr. 
Dodson pursued a successful career as a geologist with the Forest 
Oil Corporation before his 1977 retirement from Parker & Parsley, 
and Mrs. Dodson built a loving home life for the couple's three 
children, Donna, Robert, and Darlene; and
	WHEREAS, Remaining active and energetic in their retirement, 
the Dodsons are members of the community of faith at Midland's First 
Assembly of God and take immense pride in the accomplishments of 
their three cherished grandsons, Jay, Kevin, and Bennett; and
	WHEREAS, The Dodsons have enjoyed an enduring relationship 
that has grown in love and mutual respect with each passing year, 
and they are a source of tremendous inspiration to the many friends 
and relatives with whom they have shared the richness of their life 
together; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Don and 
Hermena Dodson on the occasion of their golden wedding anniversary 
and extend to them best wishes for many more years of continued 
happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Dodson as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
