H.R. No. 20 



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, June 13, 2003, marks the 50th wedding anniversary of 
Leonard and Claudette Hartley of Midland, and this significant 
milestone is most deserving of special recognition; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Hartley and the former Claudette Harper began 
their life as husband and wife with the exchange of their wedding 
vows in Portales, New Mexico, in 1953, and throughout the ensuing 
years, they have shared a close and fulfilling relationship that 
has been made even richer through the expansion of their family, 
which includes two children, Judy McFarland and Ty Hartley, and 
three cherished grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, Residents of Midland since 1998, the Hartleys are 
members of Alzariar Shrine of San Antonio, American Legion Post No. 
19, Masonic Lodge, and the Eastern Star; Mr. Hartley is also a 
veteran of the United States Air Force; and
	WHEREAS, Over the course of their five decades of marriage, 
the Hartleys have demonstrated a deep commitment to one another and 
to their family, and it is a privilege to join in honoring their 
enduring union; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Leonard and 
Claudette Hartley on the joyous occasion of their golden wedding 
anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes as they continue 
their journey together; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for the Hartleys as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
