R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, June 6, 2003, marks the 50th wedding anniversary of
Bob and Betty Dillow of Midland, and this significant milestone is
most deserving of special recognition; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Dillow and the former Betty Clenney began their
life as husband and wife with the exchange of their wedding vows in
Evansville, Indiana, in 1953; throughout the ensuing years, they
have shared a close and fulfilling relationship that has been made
even richer through the expansion of their family, which includes
four children, Helen Whitehead, Jim Dillow, Susan Morris, and Cindy
Delay, as well as eight grandchildren and two cherished
great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Members of Second Baptist Church, this loving couple
lived in San Saba and Brownwood, Texas, before moving to Midland;
Mr. Dillow retired from the United States Postal Service as the
postmaster in San Saba, having previously been employed by the
Region 18 Education Service Center in Midland; before she retired,
Mrs. Dillow worked in food service for Midland and Brownwood
schools; and
WHEREAS, Over the course of their five decades of marriage,
the Dillows have demonstrated a deep commitment to one another and
to their family, and it is a privilege to join in honoring their
enduring union; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Bob and Betty
Dillow on the joyous occasion of their golden wedding anniversary
and extend to them sincere best wishes as they continue their
journey together; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the Dillows as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
