R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary is truly cause for a celebration, and recently, A. T. "Toby" Carleton and Corinne Carleton of Midland celebrated this milestone in their marriage with a family dinner at the Petroleum Club; and WHEREAS, Mr. Carleton and the former Corinne Phillips pledged their wedding vows in a ceremony held on June 20, 1953, in Ozona; over the course of their enduring relationship, the couple have demonstrated a deep love, trust, and admiration for each other, and they remain a source of inspiration to all those who know them; and WHEREAS, Blessed with three children, Cathy Martin, Elaine Carleton, and Phillips Carleton, Mr. and Mrs. Carleton delight in spending time with their close-knit family, which includes five grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Carleton has been a dedicated homemaker throughout her marriage while Mr. Carleton is a petroleum geologist and oil operator; the couple are the owners of ranching operations in Crockett and Val Verde counties; and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Carleton have shared many happy times and cherished memories, and they plan to further commemorate their golden anniversary with a trip to Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada; at this time, it is a pleasure to join their relatives and friends in paying tribute to their enduring union; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate A. T. "Toby" Carleton and Corinne Carleton on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Carleton as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
