H.R. No. 34 


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, For more than eight years, Laura Quiroz of San Juan has worked tirelessly to help community residents find affordable housing, better working conditions, and child and health care as a volunteer with La Union del Pueblo Entero (LUPE), formerly known as United Farm Workers, and Proyecto Azteco; and WHEREAS, Ms. Quiroz, who often answers phones and provides information to the public from the LUPE offices, works closely with her neighbors to determine the issues of greatest importance to the residents of San Juan; she also represents her community at public hearings and expresses her support of initiatives of importance to her family and her neighbors; and WHEREAS, This dedicated community leader has chosen to make a positive difference in the world around her, and through her involvement, she has brightened the lives of countless people; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Laura Quiroz for her lasting contributions to the community of San Juan and extend to her best wishes for success and happiness in the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Quiroz as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
