R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Dr. Michael Alan Gorena and his wife, Dr. Maria 
Gorena, recently earned their medical degrees from Baylor College 
of Medicine in Houston, and it is a privilege to honor them on this 
achievement; and
	WHEREAS, During his upcoming residency at St. Luke's 
Episcopal, Ben Taub, VA, and Methodist hospitals in the Houston 
area, Dr. Michael Gorena will be expanding his knowledge and skills 
of internal medicine, while Dr. Maria Gorena's residency will be 
conducted at the same facilities as her husband, in addition to 
Texas Children's Hospital, and will focus on pediatric anesthesia; 
and
	WHEREAS, Maria Gorena is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Jose 
Lozano, and Michael Gorena is the son of Irma Reyes Gorena and 
Adalberto Gorena; the families have supported their children's 
endeavors and are united by a tremendous sense of pride in their 
achievements; and
	WHEREAS, Representative Aaron Pena has justly recognized 
these young physicians by passing this honorary resolution in their 
behalf during the  78th legislative session; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Dr. Michael 
Alan Gorena and Dr. Maria Gorena on attaining their doctor of 
medicine degrees and extend to them sincere best wishes for 
continued success and happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
