R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 100th birthday is truly cause for a celebration, and on July 25, 2003, Zarada Rachal Moran of Houston is marking this joyous milestone in her life; and WHEREAS, Born on July 25, 1903, in Cloutierville, Louisiana, to John and Amanda Beaudion Rachal, she was baptized on September 13 of that same year by the Reverend A. C. Thilliere; and WHEREAS, This lovely lady married Tony Moran on January 25, 1922, and the couple raised their family in the Bayou State until 1956, when they moved to Chicago, Illinois; in 1996, they relocated to Houston, and throughout more than 78 years of marriage, they enjoyed a rewarding relationship until Mr. Moran's passing in 2000; and WHEREAS, Today, Mrs. Moran enjoys the love and affection of her large extended family, which includes four children, Raymond, Andrew, Thelma, and Charles, 22 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren; her circle of loved ones also includes her sisters, Alberta and Willie, who live in Los Angeles, California; and WHEREAS, For 100 years, Zarada Rachal Moran has lived a full life, and she continues to share her affection with the many loved ones who cherish her company; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Zarada Rachal Moran on the joyous occasion of her 100th birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mrs. Moran as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
