No. 56R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Longtime sweethearts Jackie Navarro and Isaac Garcia will be joined in marriage on August 25, 2003, in Las Vegas, Nevada, after more than 13 years together; and WHEREAS, Graduates of McAllen High School, Ms. Navarro and Mr. Garcia met when the former was a naive freshman and the latter was a worldly sophomore eager to share his vast knowledge of high school life; they have been blessed with a loving family that includes Ms. Navarro's mother, Juanita, her brothers, John and Jim, and her aunt, Dora Gonzalez, and Mr. Garcia's mother, Trinidad, and his aunt, Sara Rojas; and WHEREAS, Despite Mr. Garcia's tendency toward perfectionism and his occasional bouts of paranoia, Ms. Navarro agreed to marry him after he proposed on bended knee in front of the "Cough and Cold" section of HEB; various witnesses to this event might have thought that Mr. Garcia was seeking medical attention, given his trembling hands and the profuse amount of sweat coming off his brow, but fortunately no call to 9-1-1 was necessary; and WHEREAS, No stranger to obsessive behavior herself, Ms. Navarro can often be found wreaking havoc on city streets with her questionable driving skills; the bride-to-be also suffers from a remarkably short attention span, except, of course, where Isaac is concerned; and WHEREAS, The caretakers of a small menagerie of pets that includes Maxwell Norman, their number one dog, Hunter Bailey, the brat, and cats Blue and Mija, Mr. Garcia and Ms. Navarro have demonstrated an amazing capacity for love and devotion during their many years as a couple, and their union will undoubtedly reflect these fine qualities; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Jackie Navarro and Isaac Garcia on their upcoming marriage and extend to them best wishes for a lifetime of happiness together; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Navarro and Mr. Garcia as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
