H.R. No. 72 


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, With the passing of Lillie Foust on July 4, 2003, at the age of 95, the citizens of Grapevine lost a respected businesswoman and beloved community member; and WHEREAS, Born in Flower Mound, Mrs. Foust experienced early life as part of a self-sufficient family that raised or grew nearly everything it needed except coffee and spices; and WHEREAS, She later moved to Grapevine and married licensed funeral director J. E. Foust, Jr., and the couple bought his family's business--J. E. Foust & Son Funeral Directors; this lovely lady continued to be involved in the profession for many years in a variety of roles, and she was deeply admired for her business sense, kindness, and hard work; and WHEREAS, She took an active role in civic life as a member of the Grapevine Historical Society and GRACE, an agency that provides emergency aid; moreover, she will be fondly remembered for the homemade butter cakes and potato soup she lovingly made for others; and WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to know Lillie Foust will long miss her generous and caring spirit, and she will surely be remembered with great affection for many years to come; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Lillie Foust and extend sincere sympathy to all those who mourn the passing of this cherished woman; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Lillie Foust.
