H.R. No. 75
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The passing of Claude Fredrick "Fred" Dungan of
Dallas on July 5, 2003, has brought a tremendous sense of loss to
the family and many friends of this esteemed gentleman; and
WHEREAS, A native Texan, Mr. Dungan was born in Dallas on May
17, 1940, to the late Joseph Richard Dungan, Sr., and Mattie Wade
Dungan; he attended St. Mark's School of Dallas on a voice
scholarship and was a part of the school's renowned choral group;
and
WHEREAS, He began his career working in the Houston area in
construction management, but since 1995, he and his wife, Rhonda,
owned and operated the Dallasite Club and Café, where he won the
respect and admiration of employees and clients alike for his
dedication and kindness; and
WHEREAS, Fred Dungan was a man whose commitment to his work
was only surpassed by his love of family, and while he is greatly
missed, his memory lives on in the hearts and minds of the many
people who were fortunate to have known him; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
Claude Fredrick "Fred" Dungan and extend sincere sympathy to the
members of his family: to his wife, Rhonda; to his son, Joseph Wade
Dungan; to his brother, Joseph Richard Dungan, Jr., and his wife,
Jean; to his sister, Mary Cooper; to his stepdaughters, Laura
Henson and Regina Nail; to his nephew, Jerry Moore, and his wife,
Barbara; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Claude
Fredrick "Fred" Dungan.
