H.R. No. 86 


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Judy G. Traylor of Quitman has been given the first Carl M. Cheesie Nelson Administrative Leadership Award from the Texas Association of Community Colleges (TACC); the annual award and a $1,500 stipend will be presented to Dr. Traylor at the TACC summer conference on July 25, 2003; and WHEREAS, A truly deserving recipient of this award, Dr. Traylor is the associate vice president for Outreach Services at Northeast Texas Community College; she has also been active with the Quitman Independent School District board of directors, the Texas Workforce Commission, the board of the Wood County Child Advocacy Center, and Alpha Kappa Alpha; and WHEREAS, Carl M. Cheesie Nelson, the award's namesake, served as the president of Texarkana College for many years, during which time he helped dozens of men and women as they assumed leadership positions in community colleges across the state; and WHEREAS, Judy Traylor has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to her career and to the youth of Texas, and it is a pleasure to honor her on her recent achievement; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Judy G. Traylor on her receipt of the first Carl M. Cheesie Nelson Administrative Leadership Award from the Texas Association of Community Colleges and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Dr. Traylor as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
