H.R. No. 90 


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Danielle Whittle of Gilmer has been selected as an Outstanding Performer at the Texas State Solo-Ensemble Vocal Solo Contest; and WHEREAS, Awarded the UIL Gold Medal presented to state champions, Ms. Whittle is one of only a few students to earn this prestigious honor from a total of approximately 75,000 young Texans who competed in regional UIL music contests; and WHEREAS, This impressive young woman served as choir president for the past two years at Gilmer High School and was a five-year member of the choral music program; she earned All Regional honors for five consecutive years and was chosen for the Texas All State Choir her senior year; a 2003 high school graduate, she received a music scholarship this spring and plans to major in music at Stephen F. Austin State University, where she will begin her collegiate career this fall; and WHEREAS, Danielle Whittle has demonstrated a commendable level of determination, maturity, and accomplishment, and she has set an inspiring example for all who know of her; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Danielle Whittle on being named an Outstanding Performer at the Texas State Solo-Ensemble Vocal Solo Contest and extend to her best wishes for success in all her future endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Whittle as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
