H.R. No. 119
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The passing of Larry Layne Anderson on July 4, 2003,
at the age of 58, has brought a great loss to the family and friends
of this esteemed Copperas Cove resident; and
WHEREAS, A native Texan, he was born in Ranger on February 4,
1945, and served his nation with distinction as a captain in the
United States Air Force; during the Vietnam War he completed over
1,100 combat sorties and for his bravery received the Air Medal with
two oak leaf clusters and the Distinguished Flying Cross; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Anderson went on to pursue a successful career
in the field of education, applying his considerable talents and
initiative to the positions of teacher, coach, and administrator;
over the years, the students and staffs at Blooming Grove,
Gatesville, Copperas Cove, and Lometa school districts all
benefited from his exceptional professionalism and dedication to
scholastic excellence; and
WHEREAS, Those who were fortunate to share the friendship of
Mr. Anderson will long miss his presence, and his remarkable spirit
lives on in the hearts of those whose lives he touched during his
time on this earth; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay special tribute to the
life of Larry Layne Anderson and extend sincere sympathy to the
members of his family: to his wife, Carolyn Anderson; to his
daughter, Dena Anderson; to his sons and daughters-in-law, Bret and
Jodi Anderson and Derek and Alyssa Anderson; to his brother and
sister-in-law, Wayne and Dottie Anderson; to his grandchildren,
Bryce Anderson and Jayce Anderson; to his mother-in-law, Quieta
Kattner; and to the other relatives and many friends of this beloved
gentleman; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Larry Layne
Anderson.
