R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Throughout his life, Felix Madrigal Rodriguez, Jr., has consistently devoted his efforts to enriching the lives of those around him; and WHEREAS, A native of Elsa, Mr. Rodriguez was born September 23, 1950; this outstanding patriot answered his country's call to arms during the dark and uncertain days of the Vietnam War, serving with distinction and receiving numerous awards for his actions; and WHEREAS, Mr. Rodriguez graduated from Edcouch-Elsa High School and earned a B.A. in sociology from The University of Texas--Pan American; demonstrating his leadership abilities at an early age, he organized the Mexican American Youth Organization while still in high school, providing a voice for his peers; and WHEREAS, In recent years, Mr. Rodriguez has helped to meet the growing needs of his community through his career in economic development, and his considerable contributions in this vital area have truly created a positive difference for many of his fellow citizens; in one year alone, his company, Esperanza Enterprises, Incorporated, has secured more than $2 million in grants and investments for the City of Elsa, helping to make the town a better place in which to live, work, and raise a family; and WHEREAS, This admirable gentleman continues to serve as an inspiration to all who know him, and his years of service to country and community are most commendable; and WHEREAS, Representative Aaron Pena has justly recognized Mr. Rodriguez by passing this honorary resolution in his behalf during the 1st Called Session of the 78th legislative session; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby honor Felix Madrigal Rodriguez, Jr., for his significant contributions to the betterment of his city and extend to him best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Rodriguez as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
