R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The Gilmer High School Buckeye Band received the 
highest marks in all events in the UIL Region IV spring competition; 
and
	WHEREAS, Under the able direction of Eric Gray, the talented 
young musicians swept the annual marching, concert, and 
sight-reading contests for the third consecutive year, the first 
time in the school's history that the band has won sweepstakes 
honors for three years in a row; and
	WHEREAS, The members of the Gilmer High School Buckeye Band 
and their conductor have exemplified the qualities of musical 
excellence and perseverance in their pursuit of this recent honor, 
and they are indeed deserving of special recognition; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate the members of 
the Gilmer High School Buckeye Band and Eric Gray on their receipt 
of sweepstakes honors at the UIL Region IV spring competition and 
extend to them sincere best wishes for future success; and, be it 
further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Gilmer High School as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
