R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The retirement of Ruby Lee McWhorter Bryant from the
Big Sandy Independent School District brings to a close the
impressive career of an esteemed educator; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Bryant graduated from Big Sandy High School and
first worked for the Big Sandy ISD as a teacher's aide and school
bus driver; encouraged by friends and family to pursue her teaching
certificate, Mrs. Bryant enrolled at The University of Texas at
Tyler; and
WHEREAS, After attending night school, Mrs. Bryant graduated
in 1989 and completed her practice teaching in the 3rd and 4th
grades; afterwards, she taught at Big Sandy Elementary and even
took on the daunting task of instructing driver's education
classes; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Mrs. Bryant has
distinguished herself as an educator of immense ability and
commitment, and it is indeed appropriate to pay tribute to her for
her devoted service; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby honor Ruby Lee Bryant on
the occasion of her retirement and extend to her best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mrs. Bryant as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
