R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Johnny Arce of Weslaco is a young man on the move, 
working full-time at the family-owned Lone Star Meats and Deli 
while taking a full load of classes as a graduate student at The 
University of Texas--Pan American; and
	WHEREAS, A 1994 graduate of Weslaco High School, Mr. Arce was 
a standout on the Panther football and baseball squads and was named 
to All-Valley teams in both sports during his years in high school; 
he went on to attend St. Mary's University in San Antonio and earned 
a degree in political science in 2001, having been drawn to history 
and politics throughout his years in school; and
	WHEREAS, This outstanding Texan enjoys interacting with 
customers at the business, as well as socializing with his family, 
when he is not busy studying, and he credits time management skills 
with helping him meet the myriad demands of his schedule; and
	WHEREAS, Demonstrating unwavering dedication to his goals 
and a strong work ethic, Mr. Arce may indeed look with optimism 
toward a bright and promising future; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Johnny Arce on 
his noteworthy achievements and extend to him sincere best wishes 
for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Arce as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
