R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The retirement of Mary Mitchell presents a fitting
opportunity to recognize the significant contributions she has made
as Uvalde's economic development director; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Mitchell has devoted many hours to the
development of the Wetlands Nature Park and is working with the
Parks and Wildlife Department on a program for establishing or
improving a trail system; in addition, she is coordinating with the
Texas Department of Transportation to construct aesthetic entrance
structures at the east and west boundaries of the city along Highway
90; and
WHEREAS, Committed to her community, Mrs. Mitchell plans to
continue working on several important projects until a permanent
replacement is found; throughout her tenure, this notable community
leader has helped to make Uvalde a better place in which to live,
work, and raise a family, and her achievements are truly worthy of
praise; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Mary Mitchell
on her retirement as economic development director of Uvalde and
extend to her sincere best wishes for happiness and good fortune;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mrs. Mitchell as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
