R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Evan Harris of Pflugerville High School has won the 
UIL Class 5A state championship in editorial writing; and
	WHEREAS, In addition, this superb journalistic writer took 
home another impressive accolade by garnering Tops in Texas honors 
as the best editorial writer in the state when compared with 
editorial writers in other conferences; and
	WHEREAS, To perform at the highest level in statewide 
academic competition requires not only talent and intelligence, but 
also exceptional dedication, and Mr. Harris has demonstrated these 
qualities in abundance; and
	WHEREAS, A gifted and motivated young man, Mr. Harris has 
brought great prestige to his family and school; his remarkable 
accomplishment heralds a bright future, and he is indeed worthy of 
special legislative recognition at this time; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Evan Harris on 
his blue ribbon performance in editorial writing at the 2003 UIL 
State Academic Meet and extend to him sincere best wishes for 
continued success and happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Harris as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
