R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, August 2, 2003, will forever be a special day for
David Martin Riddle and Misty Dawn Smith, for on that day they will
be united in marriage in the company of family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Residents of Houston, David and Misty were
introduced at a party by mutual friends in March 2001; their romance
quickly blossomed, as these sweethearts soon realized they were
made for each other; and
WHEREAS, The two have been engaged since October 12, 2002,
when Mr. Riddle proposed to his beloved on a star-filled evening;
this devoted young couple will undoubtedly continue to cherish the
time they spend together throughout the coming years, having built
an enduring union based on love, trust, and mutual understanding;
and
WHEREAS, The bride-to-be, Ms. Smith, is a marathon runner and
a graduate of the University of Houston, where she earned a bachelor
of business administration degree; Mr. Riddle, an Eagle Scout,
graduated from Texas A&M University and is a well-known horse
enthusiast; together, they hope to start a business and raise a
family; and
WHEREAS, Blessed with each other's love, dedication to their
faith, and the support of their families, Ms. Smith and Mr. Riddle
stand at the threshold of a future bright with promise, and it gives
the members of this chamber great pleasure to honor these fine young
Texans as they prepare to exchange their sacred vows; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate David Martin
Riddle and Misty Dawn Smith on the joyous occasion of their upcoming
wedding and extend to them sincere best wishes for a lifetime of
happiness as husband and wife; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
