SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 2
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure in
paying tribute to Jewell Dodd Salmon on the grand occasion of her
100th birthday on August 9, 2003; and
WHEREAS, Born August 9, 1903, this gracious lady is well
known for her charm and generosity of spirit, and she is a revered
resident of Sulphur Springs, Texas; and
WHEREAS, A beloved and respected member of her community,
Jewell is noted for her courage, her compassion for others, and
her enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; and
WHEREAS, In celebration of her birthday, friends and
family will gather on August 3, 2003, for a large family reunion
and a surprise birthday party to congratulate her and share in
this important milestone in her life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby recognize
Jewell Dodd Salmon as a treasured citizen of Sulphur Springs
and the State of Texas; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as a token of esteem from the Texas Senate.
