SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 30
WHEREAS, Matthew James Thompson of Troop 63 in Breckenridge has recently been honored by the Boy Scout program for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout; and WHEREAS, Matthew planned, developed, and conducted a service project that has benefited his community, and he is recognized as an outstanding leader; and WHEREAS, Matthew has brought great honor to himself in earning the coveted Eagle Badge, and his family, his troop, his community, and his state are justly proud of his great accomplishment; and WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and promise, this personable young man advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot, Second, First, Star, and Life classes before reaching Eagle Scout; and WHEREAS, Matthew has become one of the select few who have earned this prestigious honor, and he is a shining example to the young people of Texas; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 78th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Matthew James Thompson on becoming an Eagle Scout and commend him on this great achievement; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for Eagle Scout Thompson as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
