SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 33
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Captain Chad R. Lewis for his outstanding service as a company commander in the United States Army; and WHEREAS, Captain Lewis is a native of Rolla, Missouri; he earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and in 2002, he married Mary Anne Rodriguez; and WHEREAS, Chad Lewis was commissioned as a second lieutenant in aviation in 1996; he has served in Korea, at Fort Hood, Texas, and in Kuwait and Iraq in Operation Iraqi Freedom; he is currently the commander of Company C, 1-227th Aviation Regiment; and WHEREAS, Captain Lewis has been awarded the Bronze Star for his heroic actions in Operation Iraqi Freedom; he is also the recipient of the National Defense Service Ribbon, the Army Achievement Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Army Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Air Medal with Valor Device; and WHEREAS, A patriotic American who has served his country with distinction, Captain Lewis is an inspiration to all Texans; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 78th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Captain Chad R. Lewis for his exemplary military service; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
