SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 37
In Memory
of
Olivia Aleman
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of Austin in mourning the loss of Olivia Aleman, who died June 15, 2003, at the age of 69; and WHEREAS, Olivia was born in Austin on October 5, 1933, to Arturo Marquez and Rafaela Sedillo Marquez; she was married to Ramon Aleman for 52 years, and the couple had six children; and WHEREAS, Olivia Aleman was a woman of integrity, strength, and generosity who gave unselfishly of her time to others, and her wisdom, warmth, and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew her; and WHEREAS, She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by her family and many friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 78th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Olivia Aleman: her husband, Ramon Aleman; her daughter and son-in-law, Celia and Ray Gutierrez; her sons and daughter-in-law, Manuel Aleman, Rueben Aleman, Danny and Julie Aleman, David Aleman, and Michael Aleman; her parents, Arturo and Rafaela Sedillo Marquez; her sisters, Lupe Gallardo and Janie Villarreal; her brother, Marrelino Marquez; and her eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Olivia Aleman.
