SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 39
WHEREAS, The Texas Senate is pleased to recognize
Jennifer Nicole Walters for earning the Girl Scout Gold Award;
this fine young woman was presented the coveted award by the
San Jacinto Girl Scout Council; and
WHEREAS, Few receive this distinguished award, the highest
level of achievement in the Girl Scout program; and
WHEREAS, Through the process of earning the Gold Award,
girls develop a lifelong commitment to community service and
gain skills that will contribute to their future success; and
WHEREAS, Jennifer displayed leadership through designing
and conducting a highly successful kitchen item drive for
the Ronald McDonald House of Houston, which serves as a
home-away-from-home for the families of children undergoing
treatment for life-threatening illnesses at the Texas Medical
Center; to carry out her project, she worked with other Girl
Scout troops and enlisted the support of the community; and
WHEREAS, By earning the Gold Award, Jennifer has brought
honor to herself, her family, her council, her community, and her
state, and she deserves recognition for her accomplishment; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Jennifer
for receiving this prestigious award and congratulate her on her
outstanding achievement; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared
for Jennifer Nicole Walters as an expression of esteem from the
Texas Senate.
