SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 46
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Angela Hollman for her outstanding work in evaluating the bicycle safety curriculum known as the Texas SuperCyclist Project; and WHEREAS, Angela, a teacher at Genoa Elementary School in the Pasadena Independent School District, was cited for her exemplary service by the Texas Bicycle Coalition Education Fund, which conducted the evaluation through a grant awarded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration; and WHEREAS, One of 60 teachers who participated in the five-month evaluation, Angela received a Certificate of Accomplishment for her work, and her name will be featured prominently in the revised curriculum, which consists of 15 lessons in traffic laws, bike safety maintenance, good decision making, and other significant areas of safety; the curriculum will be distributed to youngsters across the nation; and WHEREAS, Angela has demonstrated her commitment to improving the health of children through promoting bicycle riding for exercise, and she has played an important role in increasing bicycle safety for children through her superb work in evaluating the Texas SuperCyclist Project; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 78th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Angela Hollman for her dedication to her work on the Texas SuperCyclist Project and congratulate her on the public recognition she has rightfully been accorded for her efforts on behalf of bicycle awareness and safety for all young Texans; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
