SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 47
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize United Way of Hunt County, Incorporated, as it begins
its fund-raising campaign on August 1, 2003; and
WHEREAS, The mission of the United Way of Hunt County is
to assess and address the human service needs of its residents;
the organization strives to reach this goal through community
volunteerism, fund-raising, fund distribution, and problem
solving; and
WHEREAS, United Way has capably served the people of
Hunt County for 53 years; under the guidance and leadership
of 2003 Board President Dr. John Coble and Executive Director
Lana Calvery, the many deserving agencies that United Way
supports continue to meet critical human needs in Hunt County;
and
WHEREAS, Chaired by Mrs. Sandy Hurst, the 2003/2004
campaign will raise funds for 16 local health and human service
agencies that work for the betterment of all Hunt County
residents; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend United Way
of Hunt County, Incorporated, for its enduring commitment to
serve the public good and extend best wishes to all associated
with the organization for a successful campaign; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared
for the organization as an expression of esteem from the
Texas Senate.
