SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 65
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize James Ryan for his exceptional bravery in facing the
many challenges brought about by a debilitating stroke; and
WHEREAS, James has suffered severe physical disabilities;
he is unable to use his limbs and is confined to a wheelchair, but
he is determined to live a self-reliant life; and
WHEREAS, The family of James Ryan has worked tirelessly to
help him meet his goal of independent living; he has been living
in a group home in Austin and is preparing to return to his own
home in New Braunfels; he will continue to receive the support of
his family and friends and such agencies as Advocacy, Incorporated,
and the Texas Rehabilitation Commission; and
WHEREAS, James Ryan has an intense desire to live
independently, and he has demonstrated extraordinary
perseverance in the face of great adversity; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend James Ryan
for his exemplary courage and extend to him best wishes for the
future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
